Desde 1978 hasta 1983 la dictadura militar que destruyó intelectual y humanamente el país, desarrollo un sistema de censura artística que abordó todos los géneros.
Uno puede preguntarse con sincera justicia por qué tardan tanto en salir a la luz pública documentos como estos (debe haber cientos de listas).
La respuesta es sencilla. Son documentos confidenciales del Estado. Para que tengan pertenencia pública necesitan 25 años de antigüedad y si bien pueden sacarse por decreto, la forma correcta de un avance hacia una democracia sólida y confiable es cumplir con sus condiciones.

No hay peor sordo que el censor
Ni siquiera el insospechado Sandro esquivó la censura de la dictadura.
¿Qué tienen en común “Cocaine” de Eric Clapton, “Me gusta ese tajo” de Luis Alberto Spinetta, “Viernes 3AM” de Charly García, “Camarade” de Charles Aznavour, “Canción de amor para Francisca” de León Gieco, “Amor Libre” de Camilo Sesto, y “Mía” de Nicola di Bari? Sencillamente, que todas esas canciones integran la lista negra de 200 temas censurados por la dictadura entre 1976 y 1983.
El documento que contiene el listado de temas prohibidos fue difundido por primera vez esta semana por orden del interventor del Comfer, Gabriel Mariotto. El instructivo lleva membrete de la Presidencia y tiene un título burocrático tan a gusto del estilo militar: “Cantables cuyas letras se consideran no aptas para ser difundidas por los servicios de radiodifusión”.
La lista negra deja al desnudo el criterio usado por los censores para impedir que determinadas canciones fueran transmitidas por radio. Entre los títulos elegidos abundan las canciones que tratan sobre problemáticas sociales como la explotación, la organización de los obreros y la lectura revisionista de la historia. Tampoco escaparon de las tijeras temas de corte romántico con referencias sexuales –algunas metafóricas, otras explícitas–. Canciones que hoy parecen hasta inocentes.
Otro tópico prohibido era el consumo de drogas. Entre los artistas perjudicados por la censura se encontraban cantautores identificados por su compromiso político, como Daniel Viglietti, Víctor Jara y Alfredo Zitarrosa; músicos que formaron parte del auge del folklore a fines de los ’60 como Horacio Guaraní, Ariel Ramírez y César Isella, pero también artistas extranjeros como Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Rod Stewart y el grupo de rock sinfónico Pink Floyd.
Las prohibiciones más inesperadas afectaban a Sandro, Cacho Castaña y hasta a Palito Ortega, quien a pesar de la censura se convirtió en una estrella de cine durante la dictadura. La lista de canciones restringidas incluía varios temas famosos del rock en inglés, como “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” (¿Crees que soy sexy?) de Rod Stewart, “Kiss me, Love” (Bésame, amor), de Lennon y Yoko Ono, “Tie Your Mother down” (Ata a tu madre) de Queen, y el disco The Wall (El Muro) de Pink Floyd. La difusión de temas en inglés sería prohibida de manera total con el estallido de la guerra de Malvinas, en 1982. Esa decisión aflojó un poco la censura sobre el rock nacional, que hasta ese momento había sufrido restricciones para las emisoras. “Nunca nadie se había ocupado del tema de manera institucional. Para nosotros tiene una relevancia cultural, política y social”, aseguró ayer Mariotto.
Un repaso a las canciones “desaconsejadas” por la dictadura deja al descubierto los puntos que ponían nerviosos a los censores. Algunos casos son elocuentes, como “Mía”, del italiano Nicola de Bari: “Y su vestido al viento se voló/ Y un cuerpo de niñita vi/ Crecido pude ser de pronto/Mía/ Dulce el instante y fue mía/ Mi verdadera poesía/ Todo el calor yo le di”. Otra canción censurada lleva la firma del español Camilo Sesto. En “Amor Libre”, Sesto le canta al encuentro entre dos amantes. “Acaricia mi espalda, así/ bésame despacio/ palmo a palmo la piel/ Ahoguemos juntos el placer.”
